WHY IS THIS INSPECTION REQUIRED?
This inspection is required to ensure that all jib cranes are suitable for use and maintained in good repair so they remain safe and suitable for use. This inspection is conducted by a SafetyWallet partner on behalf of the user, on the user's site and forms part of the annual inspection process for jib cranes inspections in the workplace for the user.
WHY IS THIS INSPECTION IMPORTANT?
This inspection shows that regular checks are made within the business concerning jib crane inspections. This means that planned actions (in relation to jib cranes) can be checked upon for progress or completion and new gaps identified that may relate to the safety of using jib cranes. Once identified, these gaps can be prioritised and a plan of action determined to ensure they are resolved so that all jib cranes are safe to use. This also means an inspector can see that regular checks are being made concerning jib cranes, meaning the employer is being compliant in checking the workplace and proactive in identifying new concerns and resolving these. In cases where jib crane issues may occur, these inspections may be important as evidence to show that jib cranes have been correctly maintained, where legal concerns or financial claims may be involved.

This inspection covers the details for jib crane inspections to be conducted in the workplace and ensures checks are made on control measures implemented for jib cranes to remain in good working order and suitable for use.
