When determining any machinery isolation, it's important to identify and include controls for any residual energy sources which may be a part of the machinery or equipment being isolated. The Residual Energy Sources section helps to ensure these checks are made and that relevant precautionary safety measures are included to ensure the isolation is completely safe.
This section consists of a series of basic residual energy source types which may be relevant to the machinery or equipment being isolated. The Permit Issuer and Permit Requester work through these and confirm which apply and which don't apply. The options which do apply must be checked as YES and those which don't must be checked as NO. Any residual energy sources which are checked as YES, will display an additional specific precautionary safety measure which needs to be checked as YES (and confirmed to be in place) in order for the machinery isolation to be safe.
